I would personally like to thank the commitee of cobham for ruining a perfectly good club. This message could go on forever but i wouldnt want to bore you with the details of how the commitee think they can run a club like that. Its brilliant how they think they can pay off thousands of pounds of debt when they never buy a drink behind the bar. good luck with that.
As for the reserves....firstly like to say good luck to them in the combined counties. You come on a stupid little forum and complain that we were awful so nows heres your chance to prove us wrong and climb the table. When i first heard that the reserves refused to play for the first team for numerous reasons, it just summed it up. Surely if your in the reserves you would be doing all you can to play in the first team, instead you come on here to moan how were over weight, has beens and whatever else you might say. For exmple...look at young dan who plays right back, a perfect example of someone whos actually wants to play. comes up from the reserves, plays out of his skin and was playing every week in the first team. if you dont want to be like him then why bother moaning about and stay in the reserves were you have a half decent chance of doing well and get on with it, but you could say if ken the reserve team manager was doing his job properly he would be telling matty who was playing well or who would do well in the first team then you boys in the reserves would have a chance so you better start asking questions about that and maybe you should be pointing the finger at him.
I was only at the club for a short time and you could see straight away that the reserves and the first team were so seperate and thats how the club shouldnt be run. the whole training as one is berlony. both teams should be doing there own thing as were all not playing in the same match so we have to do different things. Thats why your manager should be saying to matty about anyone who has been playing well so they would get a chance but that doesnt happen so you only got one man to blame for that.
So good luck to fulfilling all them first team fixtures otherwise you will be paying off more debt than you already owe. Maybe if the commitee had some sense and took the offer that was given to them we would be back on track to actually being ONE club and the chairman would be searching for a reserve team manager that could help you boys out and even the club.

Wink
who ever wrote that long piece of shit dont know what they are talking about. the reason people didnt want to play for the first team is because we was getting played, playing well then as soon as one of the players we were replacing came back from HOLIDAYS or INJURIES they were getting put straight back in the starting line up without going into the reserves to earn there place or get fit. and the players who come up and are playing GOOD get put on the bench for the whole 90 min or sent back to the reserves. and i would jus make this clear it aint got nothing to do with ken because ken has been trying to make us play and WE said no. you say we wont be able to play combined counties, maybe ur right, but we cant do much worse than wot u lot was...........
dan is a quality young player, but i bet if u wasnt struglin to get ur team of FRIENDS together dan would hav got sent back.....

Are you really dissapointed to be leaving the club...or dissapointed that you wont be picking up your easy money??

Yes the club is in debt, reasons why?

I do not disagree with players being paid for there services...BUT when a club does not generate the finances to be paying players surely they must life within there means. Unfortunatly the club has not done so, this is why the debts have stacked up. Now the new committee need to clear up the mess that has been left by previous people/influences that were involved at the club.

Secondly, you say there was an offer made...whos to say he wouldve gone through with it?? They would of ended up in even more debt...chances are in total closure in the near future.

The "reserve" players and management cannot be put to blame for any of this. Talking of young Dan. This was a player who last season won Youth Team Player of the year, Youth team Players Player of the Year, Reserve Team Young Player of the Year. That boy should of been involved from the start of the new season, everyone at the club new he was good enough. Can you tell me why its taking till January for him to be included? plus...he wasnt requested by the 1st Team management to be moved up. The chairman was about to postpone a reserve team fixture unless 2 players went to the 1st's game. Qoute his words "2 players". No player particular....Just anyone! If Ken was to suggest someone was good enoughto be worth a shout he was talking to deaf ears. No one wanted to include "one of us" unless "your team" were struggling for players, due to players being away on baby duty/shopping trips etc. Also, surely shouldnt 1st team managers/coaches be showing there faces at games/training sessions. Looking for themselves? 17th place in the league, you were getting paid, you didnt train and we are to blame?!?

No one is being made to leave this football club, players will have to now be aware that no money is being paid and if thats your reasons for leaving fair enough. Everyone is still welcome, all names are being put into the fold, and under the new regime all players will get a chance, what healthy competition this should bring. Also excitement for players to be picked on merit. Why dont you come back and prove yourself now??

Like you i also hope that we can improve the league position of the club, everyone knows how hard they will have to work from now on.

At football clubs all over the world chairmans, managers, faces come and go all the time. This place will move on and only improve in the future.

Ben Knight has written a lot of sensible and true words

so how about it mr first team man going to stay and play for a good club (your words) and undo the low league posistion you have created or going to jump ship like the rest
so what you say?????

first of all you could be david guest for all i know because you talk utter rubbish, so just for you we started a new celebrity show "i think im a star we got you out of here"!!

the club was ruined by the players who portrayed the first team manager into being his friend and ensuring you were picked regardless of your ability. because of this he never wanted to upset you by:

1)having trainning sessions at all incase you were not available
2)dropping you for poor performances and lack of creativity
3)substituting you in case you throw yourself out the jungle!
4)having a man to man chat to say he wanted to try different players for the benefit of the club
5)calling up reserve team players and playing them incase you felt offended

because of this the rest of the "club" players wanted an oppotunity to prevent the club from deteriating any further and the chairman didnt listen to us when we spoke out at our home game with salisbury reserves but begged for 2 players to go to sit on the first team bench and we obliged.

i personally had a chat over the phone with matt over my availability when he enquired. i told him "i would happily play for him even though some players refused because of the way they were man managed which is fair enough.
Along with all the other players matt called up my name was put forward by ken. ken had done his job, he watched his reserve team train, picked his strongest squad, substituted players, man managed his players and informed matt of players that should be given a chance.
When called up these players were not given a chance and i dont mean 5 minutes once the game was lost i mean atleast an invite to train with the first team when they decided to, or 20 minutes in there preferred position.
because this was not done and they failed to make friends in this time they were dropped back to the reserve TEAM who welcome talent with open arms hence are position in a ryman/conference reserve league.

you quote you were only at the club for a little while, so surely you would have played with some of the reserves because this is where you should have started so that ken could have told matt if you were good enough. because you didnt and jumped straight in with your mates you became a star and never looked back where as a true man would say im a bit out of my depth here.
it was obviously a big jump into the first team for you because from what you say about not training together and that the two teams had such a divide you obviously have not played at a club in a higher league because by training together it boost morale and friendship and gives the manager an oppertunity to look at the 30 odd players he has to pick and not the same 14 that have left him looking up the league at all the other CLUBS.

as for your quote about 1 man to blame for not talking to matty about players you mean ken, now if you were a man who could face criticism you would be at training tonite and see how ken works and his management style, you might be shocked because you cant ass lick him im afraid, if your not good enough he will tell you he doesnt want to be your friend thats not his job, his job is to pick the best players from the remainder of the club including youth team and he does that and gets the results with a laugh on the way.

so come down dont be scared of the "im a star get me out of here status we now adopt" you wont get paid from now on which could make or break your decision and your celebrity career might get effected. or follow your mates to another club and see if they want you, iv heard cobham rugby club are looking for some specialised kickers to help them gain yardage

either way let us know where you make it and we will battle to get out of this league position

you were a celebrity you are now out of here

oh and p.s ken made 2 substitutions saturday thats when 2 players onthe pitch get replaced, the two that came on scored unfortunatly you missed seeing this event you havent seen before because you decided to go for a drink with your mates whereas you could have been a man and come to support.

guys at the end of the day it is not the players fault who were in the 1st team yes maybe other players did deserve to be playing there instead of them but they didnt choose themseleves for the 1st team the management did they didnt choose not to train the management didnt put any on, yes that doesnt stop them training with tthe reserves but the management made it clear from the start of the season they wanted to be seperate and if any players in the 1st team want to stay and play they wont be stopped but they will play in the team they deserve to play in week in week out with a better club atmosphere than before so all the players should calm down get along and if they want to stay and fight for a place stay but remember who started the problem in the first place

carps, yes my fingers are bleeding but some of the other players dont seem to understand the point but i think dan r has summed it up now. we didnt want anyone to leave we just wanted everyone to train together because with both squads comined we would have been quiete a force and unless we trained together first team staff would not have seen us.

hopefully your return carps because your experience and sense of humour will benefit the club, but im sure your be the first to admit that it was very laid back with regards to training and i watched a couple of first team games and fitness wise we was a fair bit behind.

if your staying great if not then wish you all the best and see you around

its should be about the club, if your in your in, if your out your out,
more communication is needed. it seems to me that people have not thrashed things out and it has led to this situation
a few open meetings would help so everybody knows what is going on.
the club needs club people. its not easy i know but it has to start  now
lets have a club to be proud of.
