lots of subjectsBefore there is a big backlash to the email, the cobham forum is there to voice opinion to anybody associated with or to anyone that has had any involvement with cobham during the current managements reign.
obviously you will notice i am someone that has been to cobham recently with the comments i will say but no i dont want to say who i am and not because i am a coward, i am just someone that has found it hard like im sure alot of other people have to communicate to those in charge.
Over the course of the season the first team has introduced more and more young players which i dont see as a bad thing as the likes of tom heggarty and more recently ben may are more than capable of playing and has been a real bonus to have in the team. big shame shane cheeseman didnt stay! however with the young players in the team theres a time and a place for things to be said. do the managment feel its right to ask a player if they have personal issues such as drink and drugs infront of all other viewing players (a team talk taken place out on the pitch!) for the young players to go tell there friends and family about. poor decision.
there has been for a very long time now a big issue about communciation. it is a very sore subject for ken but his inability to answer his phone to speek 2 any player who some players think are not a ''favourite'' i believe brings morale right down. in the last match scott day a first team regular, i believe also the teams top scorer brought up the matter in the changing room was quickly shot down and then removed from the squad without txt or phone call. he turns up to the game expecting to start only to be in the squad because another player didnt turn up? you wouldnt see that at under 10 boys or premier league standard but roll up cobham to shock us again!
gerald mensah: he has been brought back from the wilderness and pre-season gave all the players with his new found confidence and upbeat manner and besides the man is an absolute beast and offers alot more to a team who is quite small in stature was put down into the reserve without reason and now looks uncertain ever 2 play again? again another communication let down.
odgie davis: he is a player who was longest serving player at the club before his forced move away. he was told he would have to pay for the clubs physio at £20 approx for every time he wanted 2 see tash to get fit and play for the club. odgie in the past has took training sessions, took warm ups when injured, warmed up ruggles who was the keeper at the time before match days, and was generally a happy face for people to have around the club and now to knaphills benefit have a very well liked player at there club. the management refused to talk to odgie repeatedly and was at the forefront of alot of the jokes before games but took it on the chin and moved on. previous first team captain in the combine prem and but not good enough for cobham reserves or first team in combine div1?? RIP Odgie davis.
Ben knight: ben undoubtedly has alot of qualities but i wont be speeking about that... again i will mention that he was unwelcome in the end of game team talk where he and ken had a shouting match infront of the embaressed cobham fans because he voiced an opinion during a cup game where cobham were losing 2-0 and there was no change from the bench where they had rob wilson - ben - and the not welcome scott day, all 3 who would get into most players and supporters starting 11. ben like odgie and other players have put in a big shift for cobham, training - playing - getting players down - work around the club like painting - even worked behind the bar with a previous mentioned scott day so cobham can get some much needed money.
do the likes of dan whitby - ben may - tom heggerty - need to be around this eastenders soap opera?
before a game... u get 1 hour, 1 hour to raise ur troops do the players want to here about other things going on in the club? make sure u sort the kit out, make sure we sweep the changing rooms? thats for after the game surely? how long can a man talk about non-footballer related issues?
this is starting to turn into a ken reid onslaught and it shouldnt be, he puts his heart into his job. hes there nearly every night, organising kit, making sure all the clubs affairs are in order, pre-season he has brought in a new coach to freshen things up. but where the coach has changed other things havent. and how long will it be before the cobham first team becomes a under 16 team because the ''senior players'' think enoughs enough.

Well said. At last someone that is being constructive not just ranting.
Let me ask a question, why do so many people seem to leave the club, players, helpers & staff?

considering the last ''spoof'' message managed to make such ripples through the club lets cross our fingers that this makes such an impact!
i understand completely what you are saying. the support staff and ken put in such a big shift only to be let down on the footballing side. if we were running a co-op you couldnt fault them £1.50 a soft drink? £4 a reserve game?........
but managing a team, selecting 11 and speeking to people and it goes horribly wrong.
you cannot say it is 100% wrong otherwise the same players with jobs, girlfriends/ wives, and pet dogs wouldnt turn up. there was alot said last year about how things would change well if u could turn the clock back would rideout / rousell / jurgen even of turned up pre-season. my opinion and only my own opinion... NO.
the players have been told that if they want to speek to the management during the week then they will have to come down to the club? thats all well and good but again this is not a full time job this is a hobby and saturday football. surely all questions are to be asked at TRAINING and MATCH day and with any other on goings between then its a phone call , or if you dont have a nice phone voice... the power of txt message.
Especially if you are not involved in the game.....(Scott day)... the same lad who was the golden boy in the combine prem who could finish work on saturday and arrive 30mins before kick off and start because he was such an ''asset'' ...
Frank can we have your number please??? what i would give to 'Talk to Frank' maybe thats what they were getting at leech to do?

Like it has already been said it is nice to see some constructive critisism rather than just a rant at individuals which usually seems to be the norm. I for one agree with a lot of what has been said and have let Ken have my opinion on things.
For those of you on here who don't wish to make themselves known, wether you are a player/supporter/helper, I personally don't have a problem as long as you have constructive comments/points to make and, if you feel you can't communicate with those is charge, then just come and have a chat with me.
For those of you who have, you will know I will listen to others opinions regardless of if I agree or not and I can/will/do speak with Ken on a regular basis and will let him know what I and others think.
Lets not forget the amount of hard work that goes on behind the scenes, with what is a limited resourse of both manpower and money. Ok, not everything might be done in the right way or at the right time, but remember that you can't please everyone all of the time!!
One last thing, in response to the question.....why do so many people seem to leave the club, players, helpers & staff?
Who are we talking about here as I don't recall that many people leaving.....with the exception of Odgie (of which I'll put on record I didn't agree with)? Or are we not just talking about this season?

I think we answered the critics today. As a team. You do make good points and they have been taken on board.

Good to see the results are improving, let's hope it continues and a title challenge becomes a possibility. It just goes to prove what can be achieved if people are prepared to listen to a well intended overview.

Exactly. Instead of mindlessly being mindlessly abusive.
