3 POINTSwell the team took the form from the Merstham game with them to Bookham on a cold frosty night Cobham lined up almost as saturday The game started as expected with both teams playing at a fast speed closing each other down and not giving up anything the first real effort went to bookham but a feint touch by Rory was enough to turn it onto the bar, on 40 mins Andy Dalhouse outpaced the bookham defenders to turn in on the last one and fire home for a 1-0 lead this was then followed by a second yellow for the bookham left back. and a looping head saw it come back off the homesides cross bar. Half time 1-0 to the vistors in the second half with the frost coming down hard, which the Bookham players were eager to point out the officials it was a further 2 goals from Dalhouse either side off a bookham goal that saw Cobham run out comfortable 3-1 winners.

the wood 3 (0) cobham 0at 1-0 down in the second half with cobham matching colliers wood in all dept the turning point came when ashley williams took 6 mins to recieve two yellows the 1st for "talking to the ref" and a rash tackle produced the second yellow followed by the red. 2 late goals including a 89min pen saw Cobham come away with zero points in a match they should have got more from with Raynes park Vale winning as well it was a disappointing weekend

cfc 3(2) V north Greenford 3 (2)2-0 down after 17mins saw a good solid fight back to go in level was a good comeback andrews 37min and Dalhouse 43min But if it was not for the man of the match jurgs in goal with several excellent saves to keep us in it. the returning pitcher connected with a douglas cross to put the homeside 3-2 up and thats the way it stayed until on the 84th minute the ref gave a penalty for what appeared a well timed adrews tackle not one visiting spectator agreed with the ref although they were grateful for his decsion and mills equalised 3-3 with Raynes park losing Cobham stay out of the relegation zone full match report to follow later

cfc v chertsey towncfc 1 (0) Chertsey 5 (2)
2 goals on 40 and 45th minutes the first a pen and the 2nd a well worked goal was a cruel blow for a hard working defense who up to that point had stood firm. this was a bridge to far and 3 goals in the first 15 mins of the second half to make it 1-4
then having used all our subs cobham were forced to play the last 20 with 10-men as charles hobbled of injured
a late 85th min goal made the score 5-1 against a very strong chertsey side who must start as next seasons favorites
christian gonazalez scoring direct from a free kick

Relegation worriesDon't fret yet Nige.
Pretty certain it will only be one up and one down (if any at all!!).
Dorking will def be first to go and as long as only one from HW or Westfield in Div 1 finish in the top 3, then we will be ok - just!
The league prob won't make their mind up til pre-season anyway, so who knows what will happen until then!!!

Camberley TownSaturday 26th April 2008
Camberley 0 – Cobham 1 Scott Day 15mins
The home sides programme notes clearly explained what was about to unfold on the last day of the season. First Guildford would lose 1-0 to Bedfont and Camberley would triumph 13-0 against basement side Cobham thus ensuring that Camberley would finish second. Well Guildford kept to the script kindly losing 1-0 but Cobham’s Teenagers who were lead by Dan Rousell who at 17 years became the youngest player to captain the senior side, were to be party poopers with a battling 1-0 win to finish their season on a high. Following on from there 2-2 midweek draw away at Chessington and Hook in which the Russian Linesmen made a guest appearance signalling that Chesington’s second goal which came back of the cross bar before being cleared had in fact crossed the line and with it Cobham’s mathematical chance of avoiding the second from bottom berth. Their fate now rest in the hands of the Combined Counties and its politics with only one side looking to finish in the top three in Division 1 having the necessary ground conditions, it looks likely that Cobham Should retain the position in the Premier Division, which would be an incredible feat given that in January when the Chairman and his manager resigned and with 12 players moving on in the same week it was a bleak start to the new year but the youngest were given the chance and whilst it has not been an easy few months on the pitch, the club is looking strong both on and off it.
With the average age of the squad at 19 and free of the shackles of relegation they took the game to the home side and on quarter of an hour Scott Day went on a run that chased the ball forcing the centre half to play back towards his keeper, Day kept the pressure on getting to the ball first and flicked it over Karl Clayton who was appearing for the last time at this level. The script had been well and truly torn up and it was Cobham that got the ball down and passed it with the ever impressive Rideout controlling the tempo he was ably supported by Shaun Powell. Camberley resorted to the long ball game trying to hit it in over the top but the back four stood tall winning everything. How Cobham didn’t score more is anybody’s guess with first Andy Dalhouse having an effort cleared of the line and then Shaun Powell thought he scored only to see his effort cleared of the line by an outstretched arm. A clearer penalty you will see not given. Where is that Russian when he is needed So the season ended in bright sunshine and Cobham now await their fate at the league meeting on 14th May 2008
